International Shipping
To help encourage as wide participation as possible,
Fleet 12 has made arrangements for very economical transportation
for competitors wishing to ship their boat from Australia
or the United Kingdom to Oakland (and return). This
deal is available only to and for competitor's boats
to be used in the 2005 World Championships, and not
outside trading interests as verified by U.S. Customs
documentation.
As many people are familiar with from first hand experience,
shipping schedules are often subject to change on short
notice due to unforeseen events (e.g. weather, labor
strife, etc.) so the best advice is to SHIP EARLY.
All boats are to be loaded or shipped in a 40 foot
container atop shipper's own road-worthy boat trailer.

Cost of Ocean Carriage (Australia to US): US$1800

Cost of Return Ocean Carriage: US$3000 per 40'

Container Packing
The responsibility for packing boats into the container
will rest with the boat owners, whilst every support/advise
will be given by APL, the final securing of the boat
and trailer within the container are the shippers responsibility.Should
outside assistance be required for packing the boats
this can be arranged however the extra costs incurred
will be for account of cargo.
